Long Time no Blog!!

It's been a while since I've posted on the blog .......................because I haven't had the constant reminders from Uncle Jayson or Grammie to get me into gear.................... ;) haha, gotta have someone to blame! But really, life just got too hectic, so here we are! I'll try to keep it short and sweet and just post lots of pictures of our beautiful baby girl.

Last blog post was Halloween. Since then quite a bit has happened... First thing's first, Matt and I got married!! 11-19-11 :) Also, we bought and moved into our first home; a condo in Mira Loma, celebrated Emma's first birthday, and Christmas (technically Emma's second Christmas but her first of being aware of gifts), and that was how we ended 2011. 2012 has started at a bit of a slower pace, just trying to get our new home together... and of course the biggest news... Emma is going to be a big sister! We are expecting baby number 2 August 30, 2012 :)

Now, it has crossed my mind... do I start another blog for baby number 2 and maintain two blogs?? Well, as you can see, I am not so great at keeping up with one blog so that probably isn't an option. So what I have decided to do is create a "Powell Family" blog about both our lil kiddos. This will probably be the last entry on this blog, as I would like to preserve this as Emma's website and something she can see as she grows up. It documents her first year and she is the reason I started "blogging" after all. So, from now on, you will be able to see our little family grow on ourlittlepowells.blogspot.com (soon to come).

Now, back to this post, I won't inundate you with too much text, but would like to update on Emma's "stats". She maintains her 110th percentile in height, 90th percentile in weight and her personality is as eccentric as ever! She dances to any and all music, and has pretty good rhythm if I may say so! She chatters constantly, currently has a few words under her belt on a constant basis: "Mamma", "Dada", "Uh Oh" (although for a long time it was just "Uh"), "Guys" (she calls Auntie Pokie Jo's sons "guys" to get their attention), "Buh" for bird, "Hi", as well other words she has spoken maybe once or twice. She barks when she sees/hears dogs, she meows with/at the kitties, she moos like a cow, and she makes monkey noises when you call her a monkey ;) She knows her body parts; eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, ears, belly. She'll do surprised face, mad face, happy face, silly face...she likes to do a tap/shuffle dance when she's being goofy, which is one of her favorite pass times! She spins in the middle of the room and then will dramatically fall to the ground as she grunts. She definitely likes to put on a show! And as always, she is a solid, healthy eater.

At her latest appointment, her 15 month checkup, the doctor confirmed that she is eating more than enough veggies... he said she is on target to be 6'2''!! Poor girl ;) She is 33.5 inches in length already and if her growth continues until age 2, we are in for a tall child!! Time for mommy to refresh her volleyball skills and get Emma on the court a.s.a.p.

We have told Emma she is going to be a big sister, and she has only recently started "petting" my belly but of course, doesn't understand what is going on. We are so excited to see her with her little brother or sister. We know she will be a big help and a wonderful big sister! She is so caring, gentle and attentive. She likes to cuddle and is as independent as her little body and mobility skills allow her to be. Already cleaning up after herself, wiping the table, her mouth and hands and finishing dinner by pushing her chair in. I can't wait for the two of them to meet and to see how much she tries to take over caring for him/her! haha

So to wrap up this entry and this blog, here are some most recent pictures of Emma; at our wedding, her birthday, Christmas and some random shots taken this year. Enjoy!! Hopefully I'll be a little better at updating the "family" blog  ;)
